In the last six years, nearly a third of all independent abortion clinics have been forced to close their doors – greatly diminishing access to essential health care in our country. Access to abortion care is under threat. Independent providers serve three out of every five patients who have an abortion, yet they receive only a fraction of public support. The time is now to protect and support the courageous providers who defend abortion access. Currently, seven states depend solely on independent clinics, including Louisiana. The looming June Medical Services vs Russo Supreme Court case puts Louisiana’s clinics and communities at serious risk. We must take a stand, because what happens in Louisiana could change everything. It’s time to protect independent clinics, because we provide care when and where others will not, with a commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind. Let’s unite and show our country that we need to keep our clinics.
