            The Abortion Care Network is an organization of independent abortion providers and allies. We are proud of abortion providers’ record of safety, respect for women, and contributions to public health. Among these contributions are safe outpatient clinics which have made health care affordable and accessible for millions of Americans; informed consent which explains medical procedures so that patients can make choices about their care based on sound information; and scientific advancements which have made abortion in the United States one of the safest medical procedures for women. We do this work because we care deeply about women and their families.

            It has recently come to our attention that concerns have been raised about the disposal of fetal remains in some areas. Laws and regulations vary from state to state, and the Abortion Care Network has encouraged our members to review the laws in their state.           

            Operation Rescue and other anti abortion organizations seek to make criminals of women and doctors and to stigmatize abortion. This issue will not distract us from our work providing high quality care for women.
